Hi, I'm Katie!

I am an illustrator and artist from New Zealand, currently living in Vancouver Island, Canada. I work for clients internationally on projects for publishing, surface pattern design and art licensing. Not only that, but I also have my own line of stationery and other illustrated goodies under the brand In My Backyard.

I find the colours, shapes, and textures of the natural world an endless source of inspiration, and filling sketchbook pages with these observations is a vital part of my practice. My sketchbooks are where I can try out materials, discover new colour combinations and be free to play.
